When you, as a singer, want to show off your talent on a show like Britain’s Got Talent, the nerves and all the attention can have a big influence on your performance. Each voice is beautiful in its own way, but is your voice beautiful enough to impress four critical judges? Certainly the most critical of the bunch; Simon Cowell?
Even the most experienced singer or vocalist would be nervous about having to perform in front of Simon Cowell. A little girl overcame her nerves and gave a performance with a lot of passion and dedication. 12-year-old, Maia Gough, stepped onto the stage of Britain’s Got Talent, after which one of the judges correctly remarked that she was very cute.

You could tell that this 12 year old was taking her first steps onto a big stage. She laughed nervously as she searched for all the family members she had brought with her. She brought a dedicated support group. Her mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, uncle and aunt were all in the audience.
Then she told the judges she was going to sing “I Have Nothing” by her idol, Whitney Houston. Simon was immediately skeptical and showed that with his facial expression. However, from the moment Maia started her performance, the audience went crazy.

Despite the girl’s narrow build, she had a voice that nobody could have expected. She sang with her heart and soul, while the expression on the faces of the judges became more and more astonishing. During the performance, it was clear that Maia’s self-confidence was growing because of the support she got from the audience. This was definitely a pop star in the making.
The camera then focuses on her mother, who becomes very emotional during the performance. Afterwards, the family said that they support her 100% during her voyage of discovery to become a singer.
